What is Surfite?
Surfite is a rock like material made from recycled surfboard resin. At a surf shop, when making boards they pour the colored resin over the base, and the excess resin drips off onto the ground, and over time, this forms many layers of resin in a solid form. These scraps are then collected by artists and collectors, which can be cut and polished into slabs to make many forms of art, most commonly jewelry.
Who we are
Santa Cruz Surfite is a local family run business in Santa Cruz, California. Members of the community for 25 years, they have a deep passion for art, rocks, and the local Santa Cruz surf culture. Meet the Langell’s, Tom, Ally, and Mike. Their love of art and surf stems from their late wife and mother, Diana, a local artist who spent all her free time on the ocean catching waves. Her memory and impact on the community drives this passion project for the Langell’s.
